フルーティスト。東京藝術大学卒業。
第4回日本クラシック音楽コンクール特別賞、第51回全日本学生音楽コンクール東京大会奨励賞を受賞。
2011年から2014年にかけて、ザルツブルク・モーツァルテウム音楽大学のマスタークラスを受講し、フルートをペーター＝ルーカス・グラーフ氏に師事。京都フランス音楽アカデミーおよびパリにて、室内楽をクリスチャン・イヴァルディ氏に学ぶ。
2013年、大友良英氏率いる「あまちゃんスペシャルビッグバンド」に参加。NHK連続テレビ小説「あまちゃん」のオープニングテーマおよび劇伴録音、全国ツアー、NHK紅白歌合戦に出演。
2016年にはNHKドラマ「トットてれび」の劇伴録音に参加し、ミュージシャン役としてドラマにも出演。
2018年8月から2021年6月まで、フルート専門誌『THE FLUTE』にて誌上レッスン「録ってもデュエッツ」を連載。
主な著作・編曲出版物に、『フルートデュオ名曲集25』『ディズニーソング・デュエットコレクション』『ジブリメロディー集』などがある。
また、ペーター＝ルーカス・グラーフ氏著『Back stage（フルートの響きを豊かにする52の質問）』（ショット社／ヤマハ出版）の日本語版監修を行う。
現在、出版社 JapanDuoNotes 代表として、ピアノ伴奏なしで演奏できるフルート二重奏楽譜を中心に、クラシック作品の編曲・出版を行っている。

Profile
Kan Saito is a flutist and arranger based in Japan. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts.
He received the Special Prize at the 4th Japan Classical Music Competition and the Encouragement Prize at the 51st Student Music Concours of Japan, Tokyo division.
From 2011 to 2014, he attended masterclasses at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he studied flute with Peter-Lukas Graf. He also studied chamber music with Christian Ivaldi at the Kyoto French Music Academy and in Paris.
In 2013, he joined Otomo Yoshihide’s Amachan Special Big Band, participating in the recording of the opening theme and soundtrack for the NHK morning drama Amachan, the national tour, and an appearance on NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen.
In 2016, he participated in the soundtrack recording for the NHK drama Totto TV and also appeared in the drama as a musician.
From August 2018 to June 2021, he wrote the lesson series Tottemo Duets for the flute magazine THE FLUTE.
His publications include 25 Famous Pieces for Flute Duet, Disney Song Duet Collection, and Studio Ghibli Melodies.
He also supervised the Japanese edition of Peter-Lukas Graf’s Back stage: 52 Questions to Enrich the Sound of the Flute, published by Schott / Yamaha Publishing.
He is the representative of JapanDuoNotes, a publisher specializing in flute duet sheet music, especially classical arrangements for two flutes without piano accompaniment.
